The Center for Research in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CRNN) is a public scientific research institution established by Executive Decree No. 24-323, in force since October 1, 2024. Located at the Abdelhafid Ihaddadene Scientific and Technological Hub in Sidi Abdallah, it represents a strategic pillar of Algeria's national research and innovation ecosystem.
Its mission: to transform nanosciences into concrete solutions addressing Algeria's energy, environmental, health, and technological challenges, while achieving international recognition through excellence in research.
CRNN is organized around four research divisions:
Synthesis and Characterization of Nanomaterials
Nanomaterials for Energy and Environmental Applications
Nanobiotechnology and Nanomedicine
Nanophotonics, Plasmonics and Nanoelectronics
Together, they cover a broad and interdisciplinary spectrum — from advanced materials to healthcare, from clean energy to the technologies of the future.
